Clinical variables of interests

Colon cancer patients don't have much information in regard of their survival because many of them are still alive (from the seminar by Ilya Shmulevich). Other clinical variables need to be considered in the analyses. In a discussion with Andrew Trister we came up with the following list of relevant clinical traits available fot TCGA colon patients:

distant_metastasis_pathologic_spread

lymphatic_invasion_present

primary_tumor_pathologic_spread

tumor_stage

bmi (as weight in kg/height*height in meters) 

Explicitly remove: gender and age

When TCGA paper on CRC comes out in March we can learn more about other relevant clinical variables.
