The Synapse engineering team maintains a development instance of Synapse that can be used for testing purposes.

Create an account on the Development Stack

A self-service Jenkins job can used to create certified user accounts on the development stack. If you do not have permission to access the Jenkins machine, create a ticket in the PLFM project indicating:

  • The usernames to create

  • Any special privileges that each user should be assigned (e.g. membership to the ACT team)

Notes and Caveats

The data in the development instance is completely separate from production data. Do not store sensitive data in the development instance.

Certain functionality is disabled on the development instance, including the ability to send emails. If critical functionality required to test your usage of Synapse does not work on the development instance, please create a ticket in the PLFM project.
