We show that the dendrograms are identical by permuting the rows of a diagonal matrix according to the leaf reordering of one dendrogram, while permuting the columns of the diagonal matrix according to the leaf reordering of the other dendrogram.   Identical leaf positions maintain the matrix's diagonal.
