This article describes the procedure for how MODEL-AD teams should submit new mouse model information to the Sage Data Coordination Center (DCC). Information about the model will be posted on the experimental tools page on the AD Knowledge Portal.

Step 1: Submit information about mouse model through survey

Please provide information about the mouse strain in this MODEL-AD Tools survey. The strain information should match that on the JAX strain webpage.

Step 2: DCC adds model to the AD Knowledge Portal

  • The DCC creates a new file entity in Synapse’s Experimental Tools for the strain. The entity is named after the Model Common Name and will link to the JAX lab strain page.

  • The DCC annotates the new strain with the content provided in the survey.

  • The DCC creates a link to any study that includes data from the strain.

  • The AD-DCC will add the report into the Mouse Model Reports in Synapse. Since the mouse model reports do not include sensitive information or PII/PHI, they are eligible for anonymous viewing and download permissions in Synapse. The Sage Governance team is responsible for enabling sharing permissions for each file in Synapse.

  • Sage DCC updates file view with a link to the mouse model report in the Experimental Tools

Step 3: Creating release notes and advertising new models

The DCC writes release notes to inform the community when a new strain is available. The release notes are posted in AD Knowledge Portal News and link to the experimental tool in the AD Knowledge portal.

DISCUSS OPTION w MODEL-AD TEAMS: When a new strain is available the DCC could write a feature story about it for the newsletter.
