The main goal of MODEL-AD is to standardize simplify the process of characterizing animal models, establish guidelines standards for preclinical testing, and ensure the availability of that animal models, protocols, and validated data are easily accessible to all researchers for engaged in drug development.

How to contribute data and metadata

To contribute data and metadata, create a Synapse account and join the MODEL-AD team. Follow these steps to register for a synapse.org account, join the MODEL-AD Team, contribute data, prepare metadata, and upload data.

1. Register for a synapse.org account

   1. Visit the Synapse website and locate the "Register Now" button.

   2. Fill in your desired username and email address.

   3. Expect to receive an email from Synapse containing further instructions on finalizing your registration.

2. Join the MODEL-AD Team

   1. After successfully registering for a Synapse account, navigate to the "Teams" tab and search for "MODEL-AD_DataUpload" to join the team.

   2. Simply click on the "Join Team" button.

   3. Optionally, include a message and then proceed by clicking on the "Send request" button.

3. Contributing data to the portal

   1. As a member of the MODEL-AD Team, you can contribute data to the portal by selecting the "Contribute Data" option.

   2. Provide necessary details about your data, such as data type, size, and format.

   3. Additionally, furnish a citation for your data.

   4. Finally, submit your data by clicking on the "Submit Data" button.

What data and metadata can I contribute?

You can contribute any data and metadata that is relevant to your MODEL-AD research studies. This includes data on mouse models, protocols, and validated data.
