would this information be available generally in Synapse Docs and across R and Python client? Or should it only be available in the Python client?

I am thinking of, in Synapse Docs, users would come from:

  • Introduction to version-able entities

  • Working with Synapse FileEntity’s version

    • Modifying the existing version

    • Update FileEntity with a new version, which links to the Python docs instructions on uploading new version of a file.

In this case, in the Python docs, I will not have to explain why one would like to do this, but rather links back to “Version-able entities” in the Synapse Docs for more higher level information.
What do you think?

Is this topic already in “Synapse in Practice”?

Uploading new versions of files is covered here: https://docs.synapse.org/articles/files_and_versioning.html Python code examples are there?

This is great! Thanks

Kenny probably created this issue to move code from this page to a Python’s article. I am going to move the following parts to the new article in the Python client docs:

  • Uploading a New Version

  • Updating Annotations or Provenance Without Changing Versions

  • Downloading a Specific Version
