Files failing to upload using syncToSynapse
We've had multiple collaborators try to upload files using a manifest + syncToSynapse. However, they've had to try and re-upload multiple times because the upload fails and they're getting frustrated. They're also concerned about the lack of error messaging letting them know what files failed.
Is there a way to reduce the failure rate and create error messages?
SPRINT PLANNING: Closing - reopen if we find it again.
was filed after Kiran faced trouble uploading.
A couple of examples of failed tries:
In the EpiMap (syn12207406) study, Kiran uploaded almost all the fastq files, but a few didn't make it. She wasn't aware of the mismatch until we ran our validation and let her know.
In the iPSC study (syn12177486), we've had Gianfilippo try multiple times to upload the fastqs of the undifferentiated iPSCs, but he hasn't been able to upload all of them after 2 attempts.
They aren't getting any notifications of files failing to upload. Is it a parameter they can set?
It doesn't seem to fail if you upload only one file.
Can we get some details? Can they forward the error message that gets emailed to them when it fails? This email will have a complete stack trace of what happened.
Are they also failing for single files?
This is a reoccurring problem that is causing a lot of frustration form our data providers. We need to find a solution
