We have multiple use cases where we multiple datasets into a single, uniform file. We'd like to grant access to this file while respecting the different access requirements for the individual datasets.
For example: We have combined datasets 1,2, and 3 into one file (syn12345) for user's convenience for an event. dataset 1 access requires membership to team A and which is approved by external scientist A, dataset 2 access requires membership to team B and which is approved by external scientist A, dataset 3 requires nothing special. We'd like to make sure that people have approval (e.g. A and B membership) before they access the combined dataset syn12345. In the future, we'd add to this dataset and may need to add new team access requirements to the dataset.
Currently, we can only do this by creating yet another team, verifying that a user is on team A and B, and then adding them onto team C which grants access to syn12345. It would be much easier if we could add membership to team A and B as the conditions for use for syn12345, so we don't have to deal with yet another team invitation + acceptance process for team C.
